BANKNOTE: 50 ZENS

01 · SALOMON M’BALI
1796 - 1883
The Treasury in very safe hands
Salomon M’Bali protected the Treasury from waste, panic, and curious citizens. Under his management, the books remained balanced thanks to a negative appendix no one ever distributed.
Every crisis fed a reserve, every reserve fed a fund, and every fund opened into a family foundation. Salomon called it diversification; accountants did too when he was present.
When finances improved, he deserved the credit; when they failed, the public had overspent. The 50 Zens note reminds everyone that trust must be earned, or printed.
